Titled “The pressure of climate change & the challenge of technological innovations”, this is part three of four of Peak Re China webinar series.

Our underwriting expert will shed light on the current state of climate change, the impact of climate change on the insurance industry and society at large, as well as how the industry can tackle the volatility and unpredictability of climate change by using innovative technology and by designing smarter products for clients.

The webinar will be conducted in Mandarin, and is an invitation-only event.

We will cover the following key points:

  • Understanding and responding to climate change and its associated risks, in particular the increasing uncertainties of frequency and severity of natural disasters and corresponding implications to underwriting, pricing and risk management.
  • Recognizing the significance of insurtech and insurance innovation in combating climate challenges, for example the widespread adoption of remote sensing technology, and the need to improve from constant experimentation.
  • Innovating with new products such as index insurance to popularize access to insurance, raise awareness towards natural disasters, and enhance risk management capabilities in tackling climate change.
